UFC 92 did not disappoint. It was a great card, with great fights and a few surprises. One of those surprises was Frank Mir's perfect dismantling of Antonio "Minatauro" Nogueira. As the UFC Interim Heavyweight Champion, Mir has one of the greatest comeback stories in the sport. His life story would make for a great Sunday night movie as Mir has defied all odds not just in the octagon, but also from a potential career ending motorcycle accident in 2005.

It was the mental hurdles that kept him from getting back in championship form. It's admirable how he gives all the credit to his family and friends, especially his wife who never gave up on him and encouraged him to persevere through it all.
Mir now faces the biggest challenge of his fighting career (again) in the form of a rematch against Brock Lesnar. In their first meeting at UFC 81, after receiving vicious hammerfists to the head and face, Mir slapped on a knee-bar and submitted Lesnar in the opening minutes of the first round. Can Mir pull off another impressive victory or will Lesnar completely dominate Mir?
One thing for sure, Frank Mir vs. Brock Lesnar II is one of the matches I look forward to in 2009.
